HiRISE Completes Historic Window Restoration at Somerset House

ROCKVILLE, MD (January 20, 2014) – HiRISE played a key role in the condo conversion of Somerset House, a historic Dupont Circle property originally built in 1917 by architect Harry Wardman. As part of the transformation, HiRISE installed new energy-efficient aluminum windows throughout the seven-story building, carefully replicating the original design with custom aluminum molding. The project preserved the building’s pre-war architectural charm while integrating modern sustainability and functionality.

Project Highlights:

  • Installation of large, thermal double-hung aluminum windows to enhance energy efficiency.
  • Custom aluminum molding designed to match the building’s original architectural details.
  • Historic elements preserved alongside modern upgrades, including marble baths, granite countertops, and restored hardwood flooring.
